Knokando 1987 12 year old.

A friend and colleague will be bringing a bottle of "Knockando 1987 12yo" (43%) to a tasting later on. Have anyone tried it - and if you have - what are your thoughts on it?

Why do you want us to prejudice you, Christian? You have a perfect opportunity here to try a whisky without preconception! Be sure to let us know what you think.

Besides, I've never tried it....

That's a fair point Mr T - but the tasting won't take place before a month or so - and I'm curious.

wow this was the very very first bottle of whisky i ever purchased!! it was about 15 years ago or so. a friend and i kept it in the freezer whisky gourmands that we were :oops:

I have most certainly tried Konkando. I am inclined to agree that I don't want to ruin the experience, but I will tell you that it will be well worth the wait.

Knockando was one of my mainstay malts about 10~15 years ago, I was never without a bottle in the cupboard. :wink:

Sadly it's not been for sale in the US for quite some time now. :cry:

One of the tasting clubs I'm in recently tried the 1993 Knockando 12yo.

We were very impressed with it. Some great use of bourbon wood and a really sweet, malty spirit combined to make a cracker of a dram.
