Breton Malt

Last year while on holiday on Brittany, my whisky pals and I tried a breton malt, Eddu silver, which we found very enjoyable.
Quite sweet, no negative flavours, but not much of a finish.
It's rated quite highly by JM.
Has anyone else tried this or from the other breton distillery, Warengheim?

I'd be interested in your thoughts.

There's a single malt from Bretagne called Armorik Single Malt de Bretagne which is from Warengheim. It'll be available in Norway soon - but I haven't heard much good about it :?:

I have had Eddu, just a mini, and in fact still have another one. I recall not being very fond of it, but it was just the one sample. It is made from buckwheat rather than barley ("pur blé noir"). Sorry I'm not a note-taker. If the occasion warrants soon, I'll crack it open and report back. I do cherish my Eddu Glencairn glass, though!

I loved Brittany and would love to return. St-Malo is a beautiful walled city by the sea, and Carnac is a must-see for lovers of old stones (see below). I also spent some time in Normandy and toured several calvados distilleries, something I would recommend to any lover of fine spirits. Speaking French certainly helps, but some tours can be conducted in English.

I had a bottle of Armorik a couple of years ago, it took a bit of getting used to, but, with a very small drop of water, I grew to like it. Mind you I do enjoy whiskies that are bordering on the rough side.

My friend bought an Eddu glass from the bar on the Ile de Batz after we'd had it.
