I went by an LCBO and found this on sale. Can anyone give me some feedback on what it would taste like? I'm thinking Macallan and Highland Park as the leads...

Hi Frodo,

I presume you mean the Vatted Malt 18yo?

Yes, Macallan & Highland Park both leave their distinctive footprints in the palate. The malty fruitiness of Tamdhu is also apparent.

I found it quite a nice dram, and certainly good value for an 18yo.

I'm not sure if it's a vatted malt. I was under the impression that the 10yr old was a VM and most other expressions were blends...

It is good. The nose is very pleasing. Flowery & sweet. The body and palate are decent. Perhaps a little thin in the finish, but pleasant nonetheless. No a bad malt blend, though I doubt there is much MAcallan or HP in there....

Yes, I suspect the proportion of Macallan in there is small, but present nonetheless.
