How to keep your S. Malts

Can all you gurus... please tell me how to keep my bottles of Single Malt.... It might sound as a silly question, but actually if you keep a bottle upright for a long period of time, the cork could get dry and break.... any word please??

I've heard some here on occasion turning the bottles over and back to dampen the cork. How often would this have to be done? But I wonder about that. As if the cork became very dry, then damp again, if this would promote "corkiness?" I don't think I have any bottles I've had long enough to have this problem yet. But with cask strength whisky, perhaps the cork dries even quicker.
