BOWMORE PACK

Postby Deactivated Member » Sun Nov 05, 2006 8:27 pm

From Sainsubury today, I bought a really nice little Bowmore pack today, containing (a) a specialist whisky glass; (b) a little water jug; (c) a Bowmore 12yo miniature and (d) a Bowmore 17yo miniature. Really good value for £6.66 !!!!!!

There was also another pack for the same price containing 4 miniatures - including a Yamazaki 12yo!

(PS I don't work for Sainsbury)

Always fun to find stuff like this. Okay, I'm being lured with trinkets, and generally I hate being marketed to, but what the heck.

For some reason, Bowmore very often has gift packs over here, with a full bottle and a glass or a water jug for no extra cash. I have the jug. It was very early in my whisky career, and it didn't know a Bowmore from an Irn-Bru. I'm lucky; the bottle was a long, hard slog, and to this day I don't care for Bowmore, but at the time I put it down to the long slow learning curve I was undertaking. It would have been a terrible shame if I'd decided that I just don't like the stuff! Some take to it as a duck to water, and some have to work at it until the light bulb goes on.

I bought a three-pack of Connemara in Scotland because it had a Glencairn glass in it. Like I don't have enough of those!

I picked up a couple of packs of Bowmore 12, 17 and Darkest for less than £6 from Sainsbury's.

Also not to be missed is a Glenmorangie pack for £10. 3*100 ml bottles, one each of Glenmorangie 10, Port wood and Golden rum. The golden rum is exclusive to Sainsbury's and is a real treat.

The "Glenmorangie Golden Rum Cask" is indeed a treat. I had a 'grown up ' bottle a few months back.

And 3 x 10cl of Glenmorangie is a good tenner's worth.

Did you find it really sweet?

I thought it tasted of syrup and honey.

As for the pack, £10 is not bad for a pack of 3*50ml so Sainsbury's have a real bargain available.
