Old Laphroaig 10yo

I picked up a Laphroaig 10yo that was collecting dust in an old liquor store. It has a paper insert that describes it and the foil is noticeably different than more recent bottlings. The label itself looks the same. I'm think it's around the year 2000 or so.

The bottling code starts with LU. I'm not sure if that's what determines the year it was bottled, but my guess is that it does. Does anyone have old Laphroaig bottlings to compare to?

well the bottles i've got say LF and LU and i know i purchased them between 2005 and 2006, both at trader joes. (can't beat the price)
don' t know if that helps or not. let me know if you find anything out though.

Why don't you email the distillery via the website? I did that once about a lot code and they responded within a few days.

At least pre-2001 bottlings would seem to have L+number code(s?) in them.

So my guess would be that bottling with LU-start would be at oldest 2001 bottling.
