for selling on whiskyauction the fees are like 20% and you have to send the bottle to him before you sell it.
if youve got a rare bottle you will get better money for it on whisky auction than ebay, even after the high final fees. if your a buyer, id stick to ebay, lot cheaper and more selection.
I think whiskyauction is much safer than eBay. Also, it's a business. You give your credit card details to lots of differet businesses without too much risk. I'm sure whiskyauction has as good a reputation as any of the other businesses people transact with.
I've had good luck with whiskyauction. They are good for the very hard-to-find bottles that you can't find on ebay. You may pay a bit more but I found it worthwhile.
Since my last post i've used them a few times and prices achived when i've sold have been really good, particularly with the exchange rate the way it is. Buying its expensive and haven't done for a while.
It seems bottles with the UK tax stamp go for much more than the european countyerparts.
Still if you can butter someone up on here you could get bottles for cost from Europe that only ever appear on WA. This happened to me in my ebay days buyers would ask me if i could get them a certain bottle now they do it for me, so i have a few US bottles and German ones.
