How many bottles of the "limited Edition" Ardbeg Provenance were produced?

According to Martins wonderful whisky-file site there were 2500 of the American release but no figure for the other two releases , I've got bottle 2204 of the 55.6% release (unopened , waiting for my 50th birthday or Harrys arrival on Islay , which ever comes first....) so it looks like there were at least 2500 of them as well . A small amount of the american release (54.7%) were returned to the distillery 3 or 4 years ago because the yanks didn't want them , needless to say they were eagerly snapped up by people with good taste...... :lol:

One shop in the US was also selling them off cheap to shift them..... :headbang:

Spirit - thanks for the info - I always though it would be good PR for a distiller to publish the quantity of bottles when the classify something as "Limited Release".
looks like you'll be enjoying that "mama's milk" on your 50th ;-)

Was talking to the guys on the chat last night and one American had ....
55% one - Bottle No. 5737
55.6% one - Bottle No. 3853

So could possibly be 6000 of each !

Doesn't look to "limited" to me - but I'm sure the going price is justified in the pudding (taste).

Out of the 250 malts I have tasted and rated, it is tied for number one. Just out of this world depth and complexity.
