Oban, hard to find?

I am having a really hard time finding any Oban in my area and I was wondering if anyone elese was having this same problem. Also if any of you may know what is happening with Oban, is there a problem with the distillery or something? The last bottle I found was at Federal Wine & Spirits, Boston MA, and they only had a couple in stock. The State Liquor store in NH and every store I've checked in ME is completely out and they've told me that the state has put Oban on allocation.

How long could this go on for?

plenty around here it seems (the regular 14 that is) no DE.... the price is a little on the high side so I've passed it up consistently..... :evil:

if only it was a bit cheaper.... wishful thinking.... :insane:

I haven't seen it around my typical stores in quite some time. Rumor around the LA area is that Oban will not be arriving in the States (or at least So. Cal. anymore). We do still have a few bottles of the 32 yo at the stores but no one seems to want to cover the price.

Something tells me this could well be a prelude to a forthcoming marketing campaign by Diageo which will take the price up by a few dollars.

I've seen it in several shops down here in southern Florida (Miami & Keys), not exactly my cup of tea however.
