Beer barrel

Odd question, but has a whisk(e)y ever been finished in a beer barrel? I know you can get the Innish and Gunn (spelling?) beer from Edinburgh that is finished in whisky barrels for something like 70 days, and it is excellent. I'm not sure if it would work the other way around, but it would be interesting to see if it has been tried!

I know that Grant's have done an "ale cask" version of their blend. Not sure about malts though.....
