1977 Ardbeg - a couple of questions

I have just aquired a bottle of Ardbeg 1977 which i'd been seeking for a long time. My mate bought a bottle about 9 weeks ago now from a shop in the UK, but my version comes packaged with a tasting notes booklet (which his didn't). On the reverse of the tasting notes (which give details of the 10 year old, 17 year old, 1977 and Provenance; written as always by jim murray) there are two contact addresses for Ardbeg; one is the dist address on Islay and the other is c/0 Sager - Bell Inc, 10300 Linn Station Road, Suite 450, Louiseville Kentucky 40223.

This would lead me to believe that this bottle came from the USA. Can anyone confirm that the USA bottling had a tasting notes booklet in, and that it did not come with the UK version?

I just checked my USA-purchased bottle of Ardbeg 77 and it is exactly as you described in all details. And, of course, 750 mL: the 70 cl bottles are not legit here. You are in for a treat, BTW

Hum. now that is odd. my bottle is the 70cl type, and the box is for the 70cl bottle. so the tasting notes must have come with the european bottlings too, i guess?

I have two different types of packaging for Ardbeg 1977 - one has a regular box lid and the other box lid has a kind of cardboard "webbing" between the lid and the box. One has the booklet and the other doesn't. Both were bought at the same shop in Scotland (the Green Welly Stop).

My '77 bought in the US (Rhode Island, 2003) has a US address of Brown-Forman Beverages Worldwide Louisville, KY, Sole US Agent 750ml. with tasting notes.
