Canadian Whisky

So, while many of the current blended Canadians are...shall we say....less than astonishing, there are a few that typically have a nice flavour. The CC 10 year, Gibson's, Windsor, Shenley's OFC, Alberta Premium, etc are nice whiskies in that typical Canadian style.

So, which do folks enjoy?

Of the above, I like Gibson's 18yr old. Other than that, Crown Royal makes good whisky and I enjoy all three expressions found at the LCBO (regular, Limited Ed. 15yr, Special Reserve). I will say that at $50 I would buy other things than the Special Reserve, but I do like what's in the bottle.

Honestly never tried any of the above, but I have a bottle of Crown Royal Special Reserve open right now and I'm really, really enjoying it. It's a jacked up version of the standard Crown Royal and I particularly enjoy the rummy finish.

Forty Creek Barrel Select is a really nice whisky, the Crown Royal Series is good also.
Nice to toss in a rye based whisky from time to time. Different but can be very nice drinking.
Alberta Premium is my choice in this poll..... the 25yr. old is enjoyable.

I'll have to start trying Canadian whisky. I don't know much about it really, as there's not much for sale over here.

I agree with KW, my vote would be for the Forty Creek Barrel Select. It's a permanent resident on my shelf and one of few ryes that I can drink neat.

I voted for the Gibson's, mainly the 18yo. Though Crown Royal will do in a pinch
