Ever wanted to try Black Bowmore?

Down at the Whiskyfestival in Zurich, Claudio Bernasconi (a.k.a. the owner of the world's greatest whisky collections and Guinness Book record holder) has agreed to part with one of his Black Bowmores and open it for sampling purposes.

A shot costs 100 Swiss Francs (about 40 quid).

Less expensive:

A sample of the new Dalwhinnie 36years old costs 12 Francs, which is very good value, the bottle costs about 800 Francs.

SFR. 100.-- for a shot (2,5 cl?) is not too bad I think. My "Blacky" cost SFR. 1'800.-- almost 5 years ago. This summer was an aution at The Whisky Store in Germany and there went a Black Bowmore for about EUR 2'800.--.

On Saturday I shall attend Jim McEwan's Bruichladdich tasting(Whisky Ship). Last year I was so fascinated by this guy that I thought I would repeat this special experience!

well, at the akkurat bar in stockholm, the most expensive whisky costs 1060 sek per cl, that's around 110€...

The Craigellachie Hotel Whisky Bar has- or at least it did about a year ago - a Macallan ( I think ) which was £150 or about US$225 a measure.

According to the barman the only taker had been a Japanese tourist to whom he had sold a half-measure at £75 or US$112 - that's a HALF MEASURE!

The bottle at Akkurat is a Bowmore 40 years. According to the following link, the Hole in One-bar, Manhattan sold it for a mere $920 a shot so it seems to be sold at a discount at Akkurat...
