I attended the launch of the Islay Whisky Club in Australia just over two years ago, and they actually obtained the "last bottle" for that particular tasting event. Never fear...a new 30yo release will doubtless appear before too long.
As someone else has pointed out a while ago on another thread - if you buy direct from Laphroaig (I know there's no 30yo left but they are probably releasing a new batch shortly) and you are a friend, if you wait until your birthday you get 10% off in addition to the normal friends discount.
Last e-mail I got talked about the new 25yo from a vatting of ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso puncheons. Anyone tried this?
