Blackadder Springbank 1991 ???

Anyone tried it?
Any comments on Blackadder as an independent bottler?
I seen this in a shop and it caught my eye.
It was 55 pounds.
It was a single cask bottling.

Hi,

I tasted some Blackadder in Germany, two year ago, must say, that he has some good stuff there. Just pick the distillery you like, and see if there's a Blackadder edition.

Finished one on sunday, 5 to go, payed less than £40 though. Very decent Springbank, much prefered but different style to 15. The old Murray McDavid was better but all gone. I have enjoyed drinking it as all my BAs but what do you do with that last bit? Recommended but small volumes available (I had 6 of 285b!).

It's good stuff - I like it better than the OB 10 because it's about the same price ($60 US, I believe), cask strength and non chill-filtered. Otherwise, very similar taste profile.

Speaking of Blackadder Springbanks - has anyone tried the 1965? It's about $330 a bottle here, which is slightly out of my price range... :-)

yes the BA is much closer to the better 10 DOB than 15. Never had the 65 BA but is marked sold out out on USA BA web the other day, not sure it ever came to the UK. Murray McDavid 65 is jummy though as are many of the other 60's bottlings like OMC (Douglas Laing), Signatory, Celtic Connections (BA!) and Hart Brothers. All worth a punt.

Never had a duff bottle from BA. Look out for their Orkney malt!

Agreed. The BA "Old Man of Hoy" and the Highland Park (why two seperate labels for the same distillery?) are some of my absolute favorites. Great whisky.
