Balvenie "New Wood" 17 yr

This is a limited edition run which involves some maturation in a new wood, the casks are coopered from american white oak.
I have to admit ive not tasted another whisky quite like this one. The use of the new wood really changes the whole taste and makes it a very sweet whisky with a smooth finish. If you get a chance to try this whisky it really is remarkable and i expect it wont be around for very long so grab it if you can!
I should point out it isnt a nice as the balvenie portwood tho - but i am really struggling to find a whisky that is as good as that one. Dont worry i will spend the rest of my life looking for one that bests it.
