MacLeod's Islay 8 Years Old

Postby I_SPEY » Sun Feb 10, 2008 4:45 pm

A couple of months ago, on a special occasion, I got a heavenly, superb dram:
A Macleod's Islay 8 Years Old - this one really hits the moon.
No where to buy around Rotterdam - Holland.

Does anybody know where to get this fluid gold, please let me know. I am very interested.

I'll contact RMW ans ask them to hold a bottle forme.Or,
maybe I'll be there in due time, as I intend to go on holidays to Scotland
in April.

Many thanks again Drrich.

RMW also ships cheap and amazingly fast to NL. I never had any problems, so having them send a bottle over is a good alternative to waiting until April...

IWC you are a man after my own heart. The 'As We Get It' is brilliant.

They are single casks, but I've never had one I didn't like. Both the Islay and the Highland versions are superb and on occasion they have been about as good as any whisky I've tasted.

& a few different versions of the McLeods Taliskers

as you say all single casks and all great in their own right

Thanks both, IWC and Willie JJ, for this IB's name.
I have not heard of this IB.
Good idea and will probably find in Holland!

Forgot to add that I bought 6 different MacLeod bottlings from Malts and More a while back and it only cost me something like 26Euro postage so even with postage I made great savings

I had to get them over the internet anyway as I'd have no hope of getting these over here in Ireland

Good tip. I just looked on their website and they have some great stuff.

I've had both the Highland bottles of 'As we get it' that they are showing but the 60.8% is the better one of the two.

Got a confirmation from the Swedish importer (329 SEK/£26) that the first batch was Lagavulin, while the latter was Caol Ila.

Always the problem with "generic" bottlings, contents can change without a word to the consumer.
