Tasted the stuff a few times now. All a bit over-rated for me to be honest

That's pretty much like 'Has anyone tasted wine'. There are hundreds to choose from, from all around the world, and it's very much an individual thing.

Just go into your local supermarket and see what they have and start trying them out :)

You can't have long left to go now Les! When does your self imposed abstinence come to an end?

Good suggestion. Still around £15 in the supermarkets I think.

Thanks all of you for the information. I am from India and I want to know more about it. I was adviced to check http://www.whiskycircle.com in which one of my friend is a member. This site has some information on rare whisky blends provided you are a member.

Amrut Single Malt Indian ain't a world away from a decent Speyside Single Malt Scotch. Not a bad place to start if that's where you are and it's available. I really enjoyed my bottle.

good luck on your journey of discovery! There are so many to choose from and some distinct basic flavours you will come to know and love.

No rush! Tasting single malt is like a yoga/meditation for your mouth!

Hmmm...Just joined out of curiosity and discovered I'm Member #10. A single forum post so far, from the administrator. Of course, now, I suppose having a link posted on this forum can't but be a help in recruiting  ...

Oh No!!! There's no "Irony" smiley!

"Irony?" Izzat a new tasting note from Jim Murray? ...as in "Seaweedy?" "Peaty?" or "Metallic?"

Has anybody tasted single malt whisky, you ask? I'm tasting one right now! It be a Glenlivet Nadurra. Lovely...

After 8 years of enthusiastic dramming, whisky still springs surprises, and I'm still just scratching the surface.

Marvellous stuff, Mona!

'Ere Les! We're talking about you over on the "Back Off The Wagon" thread! Believe it's dedicated to you and your (non) drinking habit!

Better get your a*** over there and defend yourself!!
