GLENFARCLAS 15YO OFFICIAL BOTTLING

I've read really good reviews of this.

Has anyone tried it? If yes, is it ultra-sweet?

I will be trying this on the 28th if nobody chimes in before then and you can wait that long.

Is this something different than what they've been bottling for years for the European market? I tried their 15yo back in 2000 and found it to be right in line with their standard offerings.

The bottlings can vary from year to year, but there was a time not long ago when Glenfarclas 15yo was every bit as good as a Macallan 18yo.

In more recent bottlings, I believe the mix of oloroso in the vatting has decreased and this has changed the style a little bit.

Cheers,

The only "15" I know is probably the regular one.
I like it very much, in fact it became one of my favorite everydays-dram.

Same thing here. When I want something tasty and simple, that's the one I reach for *this one and HP of course*.
The 12 is quite nice too but the 15's nose is extremely strong imho, it's a smooth, sweet feel-good whisky. In Canada, it's ca$100 and honnestly, for this price I'd rather go Aberlour/A'bunadh though.. but in Uk.. :iwbrnt:

Yes it is sweet although I wouldn't have said it was over the top. It's a great dram IMO.
