Glen Grant 1950. Bottled when?

Postby Roland » Tue May 13, 2003 4:06 pm

I am considering purchasing a Glen Grant 1950 Gordon & Macphail bottle.

I cannot find out anywhere in which year this whisky was bottled. There are no indications on the label and neither Glen Grant nor G&M seem to have a dedicated website either.

Anybody out there that can help out would be greatly appreciated.

I'll send a note to someone that might have a little knowledge on the subject. He owns the 1954. :D

A quick google reveals that there was one bottled in 1990 which makes it a 40yo. But did not notice anything botlled since. Once for sale on Royal Mile Whiskies for £335 but no date on that either.

No exact answer can be provided to your if the year of bottling is not mentioned on the label. G&M can bottle the same vintage for several years (e.g., Strahthisla 1964). Each time that a batch of a vintage is sold out, they bottle another batch until they decide to stop bottling that vintage.

Based on the size (cl) of your bottle and label, some guesses can be made.
