Laph 10 Year ABV

Last year, I picked up a bottle of Laphroaig 10 year. Love it.
My bottle says 43% ABV. Many places I've found on the net say 40% ABV for the Laph 10 year. Are these places incorrect or has Laph watered down their standard 10 year? Their website doesn't mention the ABV on the standard 10 year.

Laphroaig 10 typically comes as 43% to the US market. However, if memory serves me, Laphroaig 10 is 40% in the UK market. You might check with some of the good people from the UK.

I believe Ganga is correct. Every country puts their own spin on the ABV. In america it is 43 percent

Just checked my bottles.
The 10 OB, the 15 OB and the 30 OB are all 43%.

my 750ml bottle is 43%.

The European 700ml bottles are 40%. (At leat the ones I've seen/drunk.)

Laphroig 10 is indeed bottled at 40% abv here in the UK.

For another couple of quid you can usually pick up the Laphroig Quarter Cask which has no age statement, but is bottled at 48%

Yes, you're correct. The USA bottlings of the 10 are 43% and it seems most of the other markets are 40% including Canada (when we had the 10)



I'm soon to take possession of a 10yo 43% and will do a head to head with a 10yo 40%.
