Greenore 15yo

Postby cathach » Wed May 21, 2008 10:33 am

The saga continues with Cooley. I'll let you know what I do. I rang them up there asking them about it and they launched it just this week gone. But you can only get it here in two places CWS and the distillery's shop in Kilbeggan. Then I asked them if I could get a discount on a few bottles, or get it at the price they send it to the Celtic Whiskey Shop at. No dice; I was told that if I wanted such a discount I'd have to buy 10 cases of it!!!! The first rule of business is to make it easy for people to give you money; and at this rate I'm just going to wait unitl it comes out in the States or Europe. Plus is it just me or is the price a bit too much?? For just a little more I could get a 30yo Inverleven or Cameron Brig.

This is the email I got

Further to your phone call of today. The above has only been released in Ireland so far and is currently on sale in The Whiskey Bar here at the old Locke's Distillery Kilbeggan and Celtic Whiskey Shop 27/28 Dawson St. Dublin 2, retailing at E84.99 per bottle. It is 43% Alc/Vol.
Kind regards,
XXXXX

It may be pricey but it's a great whiskey. Opened a bottle last week, and was really really impressed. It's actually not a millions miles in character from a good pot still blend, same Jameson12 or something. No sherry obviously, and lighter, but a very Irish whiskey, if you know what I mean.

It's worth getting one. PM me your address and I'll send you a sample.

At E84.99 though?? Why do Cooley hate the people that love them?
