I went ahead and put out the money for the Whisky Galore bottling of the Longmorn 16. I guess no one else has tried it (not likely) or didn't care to comment. Anyhow, the WG version had a light, chardonnay-like color to it. The dram coated the tongue with a sweet oiliness and definitely had the almost requisite peat and brine elements along with generous touches of vanilla, heather, and oakiness. The body is light and would make an excellent dessert accompaniment. Would I buy it again? Yes...definitely. Trouble is, however, I could only find one bottle of it through a rather extensive online search.
