Upcomin Binny's Run

I'm heading out to Binny's this Thursday and am looking for recommendations on their hand-picked whisk(e)y. I have never had any of the specialty stuff, so I have no clue what to get. I am trying to stay under $50. I like Scotch, Irish, Bourbon and Ryes.

Wow looks like their site is all new.....

Anyway... I was going to say the Highland Parks, but they blow your (and my) budget. I can recommend the young Laphroaig.

Signatory Laphroaig 2000 Vintage 7 Year Old Cask Strength

If I were buying I would look at the Buffalo Trace bottles. And I would ask Brett for some help as well.

I would definitely check out Binny's hand picked casks. Also I can vouch for the Laphroaig that mikeymad mentioned, I have a bottle and it's very nice. :thumbsup:

Don't feel bad, they don't ship to Maine either. I have to get it shipped to a friend in NH.

Mike, the Buffalo Trace Bourbon is fantastic if it's not too late. That and the Sam Houston Very Small Batch. You wouldn't be disappointed with either, and both (especially the BT) has a fair amount of rye in it. For a straight rye, try Templeton's. I've got to get to Chicago soon--I know I'll be there in 6 months or so, and Binny's awaits!
