John E. Fitzgerald Very Special Reserve
Bourbon - U.S.A. - 45.00% 9 Monstrous but elegant and complex. What would it have been like at cask strength?!
Berry's Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1996, North British, Cask #224766
Single Grain - Scotland - 56.80% 8 Now, there's a full-bodied grain. If you are still not convinced by great Scottish grain, then buy this!
Glen Moray 25 Years Old Port Cask Finish, Batch 3
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 8 Evocative and succulent. A beautifully balanced refill sherry matured dram.
Glenmorangie A Midwinter Night's Dram
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 8 I can't say I'm getting much Highland character here, but as sherry monsters go, it's ok.
Lombard Single Malt Glen Keith 1985
Single Malt - Scotland - 41.90% 8 A lovely mature malt which skilfully blends maturity and freshness.
Master of Malt (Single Cask Series) Paul John 6 Years Old
Single Malt - India - 59.70% 9 Absolutely stunning. If this is the distillery I think it is, it continues to impress me with its releases.
Midleton Dair Ghaelach
Pot Still - Republic of Ireland - 58.10% 8 It displays both youthful and mature-ish notes. One thing it definitely doesn't lack is oak though!
Royal Brackla 16 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 40.00% 8 Gentle and mature. The perfect dram, to unwind after a hard day at the office!
The GlenDronach Peated
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 A textbook example of how to use peat without swamping the character of the spirit.
Yellow Rose Blended Whiskey
Blended - U.S.A. - 40.00% 8 I liked the nose but the palate was a little sweet and simplistic.
Ben Nevis White Port Pipe Cask 12 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 56.30% 8 Classy and blemish free but, as I've said before, this isn't my preferred type of whisky.
Compass Box Flaming Heart
Blended Malt - Scotland - 48.90% 8 As a whisky it's very enjoyable; however as a blend I feel the peated component is too dominant.
Craigellachie 23 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 A seriously complex and classy malt. Can I have some more please Mr Distillery Manager!
Deerstalker Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Blended Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 8 A good blend showing plenty of Highland character.
Edinburgh Whisky Library Collection Highland Park
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 An impressive spirit but far too perfumed for more than one glass.
Hamiltons Lowland Single Grain
Single Grain - Scotland - 40.00% 7 It could almost pass for an oak aged gin!
High West American Prairie Reserve
Bourbon - U.S.A. - 46.00% 8 The nose is possibly too subtle and the palate simplistic, but it really comes alive on the finish.
Nant Single Malt Whisky Sherry Wood Single Cask
Single Malt - Australia - 43.00% 7 A little raw beneath the oak, but if left longer in the cask the oak notes might possibly have become more drying and bitter.
The Quiet Man “An Fear Ciuin” 8 Years Old
Single Malt - Northern Ireland - 40.00% 8 Lots of potential for this Irish Whiskey.
The Tweedale 14 Years Old Blended Scotch
Blended - Scotland - 46.00% 8 From the nose I was expecting a grain heavy blend but the malt component pleasantly balances the grain on the palate.
