London hosts whisky heroes

Come to the United Kingdom’s premier whisky tasting event and take the opportunity to enjoy a masterclass or two. This selection of tutored tastings gives you access to rare – sometimes unique - expressions and an unsurpassed wealth of knowledge from blenders, distillers and independent bottlers.

Friday

12.30 to 1.30pm

Masterclass: Frank McHardy

Join Frank McHardy, distillery managerat Springbank as he introduces Glengyle. Frank has worked in the industry for 40 years and in his masterclass you will learn all about the creation of Mitchell’s brand new distillery in Campbeltown, built within the walls of the old Glengyle distillery.

Masterclass: Andrew Symington & Iain Henderson

Co-hosted by Andrew Symington and by Iain Henderson, this masterclass will allow you the opportunity to taste six special whiskies. Included in the line up will be the following cask strength whiskies: Edradour 1991 Sherry Cask, Edradour 1993 Burgundy finish, Edradour 1993 Port wood finish, Edradour 1973 Vintage and a Signatory 1992 LaphroaigPort wood finish.

2.00 to 3.00pm

Masterclass: Bowmore

Colin Dunn will host a Bowmore Masterclass featuring some unusual expressions from this Islay favourite.

2.00 to 3.30pm

Masterclass: Jewels of Speyside

Colin Scott, master blender of Chivas Regal, will be one of the hosts of this extended masterclass at which you will be able to taste different expressions of Aberlour, Longmorn and The Glenlivet in a relaxed and informal environment. NB As this masterclass is longer than other
classes, the entry price is higher.

3.30 to 4.30pm

Masterclass: Special releases

This masterclass will include a selection of new expressions from a range of distilleries. Conducted by distillery managers, samples will include Glen Elgin 32 year old, Talisker 20 yea.....
