The world's premier whisky tasting show, Whisky Live visited Glasgow for the fifth time recently and sales boomed with a record attendance on the Saturday.
Held again in the fantastic SECC, visitors were eager to learn about the secrets of the water of life at the only whisky show of its kind in Scotland and to experience the fantastic new features at the show.
The Whisky Live stage was bursting with excitement as the top international barmen from LA Bartenders showed off their skills, wowing the crowd by throwing bottles through the air and making stunning cocktails while the magnificent Clan an Drumma rhythmically beat out traditional celtic refrains which boomed across the hall.
This year Whisky Live Glasgow helped Whisky Magazine celebrate 10 years in print and joined forces with The Macallan to produce a stunning 10 Years Old whisky that went on sale for the first time at the show. One of the 300 limited edition bottles was presented to Mr & Mrs Garratt who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary by attending the show.Congratulations to them once again.
Elsewhere in the show, recently named ‘Brand Innovator of the Year' in the Icons of Whisky Scotland awards,The Glenmorangie Company,was proudly showing off its wares and, ever the showman,Whyte and Mackay's Richard Paterson could be heard periodically letting off party poppers as expert barrel makers showed off their coopering skills at their stand.
