Perfect Blend tasting with Jim Murray - Nickolls & Perks

WORLD WHISKY GURU JIM MURRAY COMES TO THE WEST MIDLANDS

Nickolls & Perks, the West Midlands based specialist wine and spirit merchants, has organised a whisky tasting event in Birmingham.

The company has beaten off worldwide competition to attract Jim Murray, multi-award winning whisky writer and blender, to hold the whisky tasting event on Thursday 8 December at 7pm, at the Holiday Inn, Great Barr. Although Jim holds around 50 tastings a year, only one or two are held in Britain.

Jim is author of the international best-selling ‘Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible’ and each year tastes thousands of whiskies to judge the finest in the world. He will be bringing along a special selection of top-ranked whiskies, a number of which will then be available to buy from the Nickolls & Perks shop in Stourbridge, West Midlands.

Jim will also be available to sign copies of his book ‘The Whisky Bible 2006’, out this month, in which he has evaluated a staggering 3,400 whiskies from around the world.

Jim, who had four other invitations from Canada to Austria to host a tasting that night, said: “I’m delighted to be able to support Nickolls & Perks who have done a really tremendous job bringing great whisky to the people of the West Midlands. Sadly it won’t be possible to bring along all 3,400 whiskies that I have tasted for the bible, but I think people will be quite stunned with the whiskies they will be tasting at the event. I can promise a fun, passionate and informative evening and people will go away with a new perception of whisky and much more confidence about their whisky knowledge.”
