From tiny acorns

More than a thousand new oak saplings are being planted in the grounds of Easter Elchies House, the heart of The Macallan estate.

The new arrivals at the 17th century Speyside residence are part a major woodland regeneration programme launched recently.

For £95 fans of the whisky can buy a limited edition bottle of The Macallan Woodland Estate, a 12 year old sherry oak expression released in recognition of the special role that oak plays in maturation.

Buyers will also receive their own sapling tree personalised with a plaque and a certificate of ownership.

Whiskies will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, and proceeds are to be invested into ongoing woodland regeneration. To get your tree tel: + 44 (0)845 045 1824 or visit: www.themacallan.com
