Banff gets a rosy Parker's

A new specialist whisky shop has opened its doors in Banff.

Parker’s Whisky & Gifts stocks around 400 Scotch malt whiskies, and is the only dedicated whisky shop in the area – the nearest competition being Gordon and MacPhail in Elgin.

Proprietor Richard Parker was a collector for 10 years prior to opening the shop, and some of the rare and unique bottles from his own collection are on sale; including a 1967 Kinclaith for a cool £1,000 and the extremely rare Glenfiddich 1976 Concorde Vintage. Richard is open to offers for this bottling.

“I’ve never seen one for sale before so I haven’t a clue how much it is worth!” he said.

The shop held its first whisky tasting in March and many more are planned for the future.

“We’re looking to hold one tasting evening every month, with each one hosted by a different whisky expert.”

Parker’s Whisky & Gifts can be found at: 27 Low St, Banff, Aberdeenshire, AB45 1AU Tel: +44 (0)1261 812 353
