More peat from Speyside

Old Ballantruan is a new single malt whisky release from Angus Dundee Distillers.

This Speyside whisky is made with heavily-peated malted barley to impart a distinctive flavour. After ‘sleeping’ for up to eight years in hand-picked oak barrels, this whisky has been bottled at 50% ABV and without chill-filtration in order to retain its layered and integrated peaty flavours.
On the nose there is heathery smoke balanced with subtle floral notes; on the palate there is are gentle "peat-reek" flavours with hints of citrus tones and malty nuttiness; while the finish lingers with smoke and peat with a touch of malted barley sweetness.
