The Macallan turns 30

The Macallan has released the latest vintage single malt to join its world-renowned Fine & Rare collection – the 1975 Macallan – now available from the Speyside distillery.

The 30 year old single malt whisky takes its place alongside The Macallan’s selection of 39 Fine & Rare vintage single malts ranging from 1937 through to 1975.

Expressions from the range are highly sought after and the 1926 and 1972 vintages have now all been sold.

In keeping with The Macallan Fine Oak style, the 1975 is pale gold in colour with a heady and aromatic nose featuring scents of grapefruit, caramelised apple, banana and cream custard. On the palate, fruity orange, chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and wood smoke, with a medium finish of oak spices, ginger and smoky fruits.
