Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Sherry, mint, pralines. Luxurious.
Palate
Very rich and creamy, with just a hint of mint and cherries behind.
Finish
Nougat, cherry brandy, ginger, faint smoke. Definitely an after-dinner whisky.
Comment
A dark, luxurious, post-prandial whisky from a distillery that is producing an increasing, and impressive range.

Jim Murray

Nose
Incredibly aromatic, thanks partly to a subtle peatiness. The sherry notes are concentrated and there is massive fruit ranging from mango to apples. Enormous.
Palate
The sherry tries to dominate but fails. Peppery spices, lightly smoked malt, clean sherry mingling with pawpaw and a vague nuttiness.
Finish
Long, clean sherry, hints of citrus fruit and cocoa. The peppers linger.
Comment
Surprising complexity; very, very good.
