Nose
Quick maltiness, then extraordinarily powerful berry-fruit: blackberries? Palate
Dry toffee, cream, fruit, nutmeg. Oaky sappiness. Finish
Dry sherry. Comment
A little more roundness would have been appreciated.
Jim Murray
Nose
Lovely bourbon notes make their mark as the soft oaky character charms the daylights out of you. Some minty, nutty notes add a secondary layer of interest. Palate
Deep-textured and estery with excellent spices. Finish
Long and mouthwatering to a fault, with rich barley. Comment
The texture and estery nature is a shock: all rather un-Aberlour-ish. Not as spicy as the usual aged malt from this distillery, but a gem nonetheless.
