Nose
Drily flowery-herbal aromas. Roses. Vanilla. Moving to a suggestion of tobacco. Palate
Smooth, with tightly-combined flavours. Some buttery maltiness. Candied lemon peel. Cinnamon. Garden mint. Finish
A surge of spiciness. Very long. Warming. Comment
Dave Broom
Nose
Initially quite crisp with a fairly hot nose burn and citric. Seems strangely immature with very faint sherried notes. Palate
A creamy centre, but everything is muted. Finish
A little short with minty tones. Comment
Easily drowned with water. The standard 15 Years Old is stunning, but this just seems gawky and awkward. There are so many Aberlour variants on the market – I’m getting mightily confused.
