- Grassy, earthy, allspice.
- Palate
- Grassy, herbal, dry.
- Finish
- Herbal, dry. Late rooty bitterness.
- Comment
- On the dry side for this whisky.
Jim Murray
60- Nose
- Over-aged, sappy and astringent oak redeemed by bourbony sweetness and by an undertone of amazingly fresh barley.
- Palate
- Excellent, oily maltiness at first. The middle is an oaky mess.
- Finish
- Dries too harshly. Long, tapering finish saved by late and enjoyable complexity.
- Comment
- Struggles to find a rhythm. Lowlanders weren't built to last to this age. Nevertheless, it has its delightful moments. Best at full strength and at about 46%.
