Nose
Peat fires. Palate
Smooth. Estery. Cooked morello cherries. A hint of creamy nougat. Nutty. Late spiciness. Finish
Smoky. Peaty. Comment
The better balanced of these two Glen Grants. The more integrated flavours. Seems to have matured better.
Dave Broom
Nose
Oloroso wood with some fragrant/nutty notes some heavily roasted coriander/cumin seed, coffee and treacle. Water brings out chocolate, singed wool and walnut whip. Palate
Chocolatey, tannic and smoky. Finish
Dry and slightly bitter from wood tannins. Comment
Old, venerable even, but only of historical interest.
