Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Fragrant. Sweet honey, crushed almonds. Grapefruit. Marzipan. Porridge. A touch of peat. Palate Smooth, silky. Mouthcoating. Sweetness with spice. Hint of nuttiness. Beautifully balanced. Finish Reasonably warm, peters off with pleasant spicy notes. Candied ginger. Comment This bottling does not have the heathery profile of the official bottlings. Drink with water.

Dave Broom Nose Dry and heathery. Light perfumed smoke, cumin, fudge/tablet, and with water rhubarb sweets. Palate Rich and soft, the high heathery phenols balanced by soft fudgey fruit. A good spread of flavours. It grows and softens then dries before … Finish … honey. Comment All you’d expect. A little less sweet than the proprietary bottlings but none the worse for that.
