Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet

Nose
Intense, beautifully combined wood and fruit. Juicy apricot. Cedar. Beeswax, polished floors. Vanilla. Delicate gingerbread. A touch of peat.
Palate
Caressing, enveloping, oily. So well in tune with the nose. Fudgey. Nutmeg. Cinnamon.
Finish
Warm, lingering spiciness.
Comment
Well-matured, amazing for its age.

Dave Broom

Nose
Austere, quite haughty. A wild grassy note with fresh tobacco/unlit cigar. With water there’s vanilla, coconut, as well as Rich Tea biscuit. Rich but clean.
Palate
Very pure. Green tea. Good weight on the palate but held in check by a pretty firm structure.
Finish
Long, drying.
Comment
Like a maiden aunt. It’s hard to believe that after 31 years in cask it’s still this strength!
