Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet

Nose
Fragrant, fruity and floral. Medlar, raisins, stewed rhubarb. A hint of rose syrup. Opens up on bakery notes (ginger biscuits, apple and vanilla flan) and lingers on heady vanilla notes.
Palate
Smooth and soft. But mid palate is flat and watery. Then a pleasant spicy fit of energy.
Finish
Sweet, with a nutty tang. Touch of mint.
Comment
Quite an appetising nose but mid palate is faint and watery. Too quick a dilution?

Dave Broom

Nose
Lightly oily: nut oil, mutton fat, vanilla. Ripe and soft, lightly spiced, coconut, peach and malt. Medium-bodied.
Palate
Decent balance. Juicy soft fruits, toasty oak, malt flour. The palate has a kick to it adding interest. Good.
Finish
Dry, short, refreshing.
Comment
Well made. A good session drink. Have it with ice.
