Nose
Quite medicinal aromas at first, but they're not hugely assertive or unpleasant. There are also some gentle smoky notes too.
Palate
Burning straw and dry cigar smoke flavours create quite a hot palate initially.
Finish
The finish is medium length, quite dry and tannic with a lingering smokiness.
Comment
Definitely not a smoke bomb this whisky, but a drop or two of water might be appreciated by some to tame the relatively high strength.

Nose
Earthy peat lurks behind honey and peaches in syrup. Barley and ginger snaps.
Palate
Vibrant fresh fruit notes, sweet wood smoke and prominent black pepper. A squeeze of lemon and some brittle toffee.
Finish
Medium in length, more pepper, plus aniseed and mild smoky tannins.
Comment
An accomplished mainland peated single malt.
