Nose
Sweet. Lemongrass. Honeydew melon. Sweet lime. Palate
Big body. Hard toffee. Liquorice. Juicy, with a suggestion of anise. Lots of late flavour development. Finish
Floral (jasmine?) but firm and gripping. Comment
Robust, hearty, embracing. Not much subtlety, but it knows its own mind. Very enjoyable. I imagine this with a decadent meal in Tangier.
Dave Broom
Nose
Elegant and complex. There’s an instant turfy/peaty lift mixed with moist fruit cake, nuts, cooked fruits, dark honey and burnt sugar. Palate
Sweet toffee/treacle start. Juicy malt and soft grains with puffs of smoke give it an extra layer of complexity. Finish
Long, quite nutty and lightly smoky. Comment
Complex and ever-changing.
