Nose
An odd oxidised note. Tinned pear and evaporated milk. Burning cigar, roasted nut and a signed note like burning hair. Glossy, but there’s something not quite right behind. Palate
Big hit with good length. Pretty, fresh and balanced though a touch of soapiness knocks it back. Finish
Cereal. Comment
A strange package that almost works.
Martine Nouet
Nose
Cider apples, damp cellar. Dessert-like. Crème caramel. Pears in puff pastry. Palate
Smooth, quitesweet. Caramelised apples. Tarte Tatin. Finish
Medium, spicy (nutmeg and a touch of cinnamon). Comment
Not so far from an aged calvados. Well balanced but the wood is not totally integrated.
