Nose
The complexity starts here. Heathery, rooty, burned notes. Fruity (apple-wood barbecue, grilled tomatoes, roasted peppers?) Hint of the typical Ardbeg 'leafy bonfire' character. Tar. Rope. Seaweed. Palate
Sappy, earthy, peppery. Finish
Salt. Lemon skins. Barbecue smokiness. Very long indeed. Comment
Ardbeg is one of my great favourites, and this is one of the best versions I have tasted recently.
