- Nose
- Big smoke! Bog myrtle, seaweed, some linseed, smoked eel. Salty. In time some dubbin (oiliness). With water shows youth and a burning paper note.
- Palate
- Seems young.Has crunchy malt counterbalanced by some oiliness in the middle. Briny with hot peppers and a little pecan sweetness. The smoke is dominant on the back palate.
- Finish
- Young. Spent ashes and tarred rope. Hint of balsam.
- Comment
- Has considerable character. Fresh, young but for peat freaks only.

- Nose
- Medicinal and mineral. Créosote. Disinfectant. Wet pebble. Bog myrtle, citrus fruit, smoke. A touch of camphor. Then barley sugar, vanilla biscuit. Pungent but the aromatic display is under control.
- Palate
- Sweet maltiness followed by an explosion of peat, smoke from the kiln and soot. Salty feel.
- Finish
- Lingering with mineral notes.
- Comment
- As we say in French,an iron hand in a velvet glove. Splendid.
