Dave Broom
Nose
Slightly dusty, like an old attic, but shows good maturity. Pine, cake mix, Weetabix, allspice, clove. A polished oak quality. This improves in the glass.
Palate
Sweet to start moving immediately into red fruit, blueberry juice then the malty nuttiness takes over. Good depth and and well balanced.
Finish
Bran muffin.
Comment
An underrated malt. Check it out.

Nose
Icing sugar, fruit and breakfast cereal. Orange bitters, Demerara and banana. With water it becomes doughier, like banana bread. Almonds.
Palate
Silken, sweet then drying and dusty. Difficult to pick out distinct flavours.
Finish
A buttery, corn-like graininess.
Comment
I was surprised to discover that this is sold as a sherry-matured bottling...where is that sherry cask character?
