Nose
Immediate oak lactone (coconut) over praline and a hint of chocolate. As it opens there’s redfruit and madeleine. A little fusty with water, the sweetness of draff and vanilla.
Palate
Hint of orange peel, then chocolate shifting to tinned peach and malt. Good feel. Water brings out the cereal note; wholemeal bread and creamy butter.
Finish
Dustymalt. Fades a little quickly.
Comment
Draff mixed with whipped cream? It’s a Glasgwegian cranachan.

Nose
Intense, fruity, with a luscious cakey fragrance in the back. Greengage flan, shortbread, honey syrup. Oak is well integrated...
Palate
Crisp and firm but releasing a well controlled sweet maltiness. Well balanced, with a tangy feel which dries the flavours. Oak is more perceptible at midpalate.
Finish
Dry with a slight bitterness and a leafy note.
Comment
A well educated dram, pleasant, balanced. Maybe just lacking the sparkle which would make it gain a better score.
