- Nose
- Very aromatic and appetising. Hints of the sea. Some earthiness. Surprisingly peaty.
- Palate
- Seed cake. Textured, sweet. Some creaminess. Vanilla.
- Finish
- Lemony. Slightly sharp. A touch of salt.
- Comment
- For a whisky that is very light when young, this matures surprisingly well and for long periods

- Nose
- Butterscotch, cumquats and almonds combine to offer a most tantalising and complex nose.
- Palate
- Shuddering arrival of firm oak. Softened by a voluptuous sweet malt concentrate.
- Finish
- Finely balanced with some smoke and chocolate drifting serenely over the sweet malt and oak.
- Comment
- Unquestionably one of the finest Balblairs released.
