Tasting Notes

Arthur Motley Nose Peach and strawberry yoghurts, Refresher sweets, carrots and pears. With time and water a slightly silagey element appears, but recovers to show admirable balance of fruit, earth and wood. Palate Buttery, fruity and a slurpy suck of toffee. Finish A light burnt-woodiness indicating some age and a slight minerally, coal-tar edge. Comment Very enjoyable and marked up for balance and poised integration.

Owen Barstow Nose Light and sweet. Coconut ice. Some marshmallow and vanilla. Creamy. Palate Oily, fiery, sugary. Some vegetal bitterness. Creamier and more rounded with water. Finish Warming. Late, sweet and bitter, liquorice notes. Remember “Imps”? Comment Rich and viscous and packed with flavour. Develops some elegance with water.
