Nose
Pink Germolene, sultana and nutmeg cookies, burning wet wood, orange juice. Palate
A thick and juicy texture, sweet and spicy with plenty of peat in between. Finish
Tea tree and sweet woodsmoke. Comment
Another region-buster and a good one too.
Owen Barstow
Nose
Sugary and unmistakably phenolic. School woodwork room aromas of pine resin and glue. Palate
Sawdust. Charcoal. Smoky wood fires. Sweet and then bitter. A sneeze inducing pepperiness. Pleasant smoke, liquorice. Clean. Finish
Oily, and less phenolic than the nose would suggest. Appetising smoke. Comment
Utterly confused here, I thought I was on Speyside.
